Swollen abdominal pain? How to relieve and what causes it?

My mom has severe abdominal pain. How do we relieve the pain? Suggestions? What can cause this?

Thanks!

There are heaps of different causes for abdominal pain. Too many to list!! Its probably best that she goes to see a doctor but some of the main reasons for abdominal pain can be:
- Gas/Digestive upset
- Period Pain
- Gastro
- Food Poisoning
- Stress or tension
-Constipation
- Poor diet
- Gluten or Lactose Intolerance.
To relieve the pain try some hot peppermint tea or place a hot water bottle on the affected area. Avoid greasy foods- stick to dry foods.
If the abdominal pain is severe you should get your mum to see a doctor.

Pain pills

If she is not taking any medicines prescribed on a regular basis that might interfere or interact with an over the counter medicine then you should buy Pepto Bismo for her at any drug store. If she tries that and it doesn't work or she has other complications like fever and diarrhea then please get her to a doctor.
