Abdominal pain, tenderness, Should I go to the hospital or nah?

Almost a week ago, I got up out of my bed from laying down (not sleeping), twisted around, and felt a strong almost stabbing pain in my upper left abdomen. For a few days after that, I could be pain free, so long as I didn't move my torso very much or lay on the side that hurt. After that, the intense pain went away, but is now replaced with a stinging sensation that comes and goes, slight upper left of my navel. The skin there is also tender, it hurts when touched. I've been bleeding - semi-medium flow, but I'm not sure if it is my period or something else. I'm rather irregular. My question is - Should I go to the Hospital? Could it be serious enough? Or should I just wait and try to make an apt with a normal doctor?

I also don't have much of an appetite, my limbs feel kind of heavy, and I feel tired almost all the time lately. Usually when I wake up, I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed (makes it hard to go back to sleep lol) but lately when I wake up, I've just been falling back asleep, without being able to help it.

i am a paramedic and the big problem with abdominal pain is it is hard to pin piont what is causing it without test or xrays. it can be many things from your gallbladder or pancreas. i do not think it is appendicitis but that can be also. the major question is have you been throwing up or ahd a fever? if so this is a hint that you have some kind of an infection or maybe sonmething ruptured. there are so many possibilities. you can have some female issues too since you have been bleeding such as endometriosis or cyst. i would go get checked out and be safe than sorry. i rather would feel at ease knowing it is just some stomach flu instead of waiting and having more complex issues. oh and the whole "something that comes and goes is not an emergency" i have people that have headaches that come and go...chest pain that comes and goes and they have ended up having a heart attack and strokes. i had a 10 year old that had stomach pain that came and went and increased upon movement without any other signs and or symptoms and his mother was responsible and took him to get checked out and he had an inflammed appendix that was on the verge of rupture.

Something that comes and goes is not an emergency. Call your doctor. Have you tried any pain meds - tylenol or ibuprofen on a consistent basis? If not, give it a try. Also, look at your bowel pattern - have you been constipated or having hard stools? Increase your water and fresh fruit intake and see if that helps. If it goes away completely, you don't need a doctor's appointment. If it keeps nagging at you, then make an appointment.

call your doctor make a appointment if ya don't have med insurance they have free women's clinics in your city I'm sure good luck
