Lower abdominal pain!? Please help?

I've been experiencing pain in my lower center abdomen on and off for the last month or so but this last week it's been there most of the time. It isn't constant but when I sit down, stand up, bend down, stretch etc. it's sore. The best thing I can compare it too is the feeling of pain you get when your bladder is too full. Every now and then I also get a shooting pain in one of my breasts and sometimes my lower right side (the two do not occur simultaneously).
My period started on the 20th of August and ended today so I don't think it's ovulation.

I consulted my stepfather (a doctor) and he said it might be my ovaries. But I'm not really sure because he didn't examine me or anything.

I really don't know what to do and it's starting to bug me now. Oh and by the way I'm 17.

It's not ovulation. I've just finished my period.

Dear Girl,

If your stepfather is a doctor he should know better and take u to a doctor(OBGY) for an examination ( he should not examine u himself). It could be bladder issue, or ovaries or host of other things but you would not know unless u go to see a doctor .

Some women do feel when they are ovulating. It's pain on one side only. You can really feel it when you sit down hard. The next month it's on the other side (the other ovary.) This happens 15-17 days before your next period, and it's when you can get pregnant. It's your egg coming down to meet the sperm and make a baby. I don't think this is your problem at all. You should see a doctor. A gynecologist would be great, but a regular is fine. Don't procrastinate on that, OK? :)

Aggravation when bladder is full and unilateral (lower right side) nature all go in favor of a tubovarian pathology. Bowel habits & urination are normal I understand as you didn't mention any vomiting, constipation or burning during micturition. A pelvic USG scan will really be very helpful, if you can manage to get done. A urine examination may rule out UTI. Avoid retaining urine when the bladder is full, it is not good for pelvic organs.
Good luck!
