Upper Left Abdominal Pain?

I have had this problem for 2 1/2 years off and on. Pain in the upper left part of my abdomin, right under my rib cage. Intensity varies from a dull burning ache to a sharp pain. Sleeping on my left side feels like I am laying on a pile of blankets or a bundeled up sheet. Occasionally I feel a little twitch or throbbing in the area. There is always an annoying ache that leaves me spending most of my day focusing on it and what could be wrong. (It's driving me crazy). 2 years ago I had every test known to man because of this, and everything came back normal. Blood work, x-rays, ultrasounds, full body scans, upper GI, barium enima, and nothing. During my pregnancy last year the feeling went away. (Had baby in 1/07). Lately the same feeling that I had before my pregnancy is back. I am hesitant to go back to the doctor because I think they think I am "crazy" because they could not find anything wrong before. Any suggestions or advice. Thanks for your help!!!

It sounds a lot like what I had, it ended up being my gall bladder. problem was not one test they did showed it. I finally found a dr that was willing to do a lap, when they got in there they found that my gall bladder had died years before and adhered itself to my diaphram. Why it wouldn't show up on any test they couldn't explain, but it did explain years of problems like you describe.

Sounds like gallstones. I had a very large gallstone and complained of bloating fullness and pain under rib cage. I went in to emergency room and they did a CT Scan and found it. I had surgery to remove my gallbladder and now I'm fine. Check out this site: http://www.gallbladderattack.com/questio...
