Lower abdominal pain, no right side, been to dr. several times, no answer yet?

I've had a sonogram, CT scan, pelvic exam. Pelvic came back normal, as did CT scan. Sonogram showed several small cysts which dr. says shouldn't be causing pain. Stool samples came back negative. Went to an internal specialist, who says blood work shows an inflammation. Next step is MRI. Any ideas? I'm scared.

I'm a 29 year old female. Been on the pill a year, no period for the last 4 months which dr. says are related to cysts. I'm not pregnant, as I was tested several times for pregnancy. Thanks anyways

You make it hard...as we don't know your age...and aren't positive you are male or female!
However, if you had an ultrasound showing cysts...you likely are talking about ovarian cysts...so we will assume you are a female...

But...you could be 15 years old...or you could be 55. You could be having normal menses...or you could be having abnormal uterine bleeding! You could be post-menopausal...or you might be pregnant!

Furthermore we don't have an idea whether this pain has been going on for 3 days...3 months...or 3 years!

Is it progressively getting worse? Is it related to your periods? Etc...etc...etc...

In any event...I will take a stab at this...
I assume you are:
Female
Not pregnant
Probably in your 30s (or close to it)
Having normal periods
Pain has been for months, perhaps getting worse
Pain unrelated to eating
You are having normal bowel movements
You don't have a family history of early colon cancer

AND...now you have all of these relatively normal studies. My assumptions are probably not far off, given your "work-up" so far...and the difficulty your doctor is having finding a diagnosis, etc.

My guess:
You have endometriosis...which can only really be diagnosed (and treated) with laproscopy...by an OBGYN doctor.

The MRI will come back normal, and your doctor will refer you to a surgeon (OBGYN)...who will perform an "exploratory laproscopy" and will find "ectopic endometrial" tissue...and zap it with a laser...and you will feel much better.

But then again...this is just a wild guess, of sorts...

I hope it is nothing serious!
