HI , I am 19 weeks pregnant and have been having severe upper abdominal pain? |
This pain radiates all the way to my back and it has become very uncomfortable to do anything. I can not sit up on my own. Eating has become unbearable, when I do it feels as if I am swallowing rocks that just sit in my sternum and pierce under my ribs. I had this pain prior to pregnancy on and off however now it is much worse. I have been to emerg and bloodwork states that my liver, kidneys, and pancreas are fine. I am not constipated. I feel as if my middle back is going to give out and when I exhale my ribs become very sore. Please help!! Sounds like gallbladder. Everything you are describing sounds just like what I went through. I made so many trips to the ER with no luck. They finally did a radioactive dye test which confirm that I had a sludge like material in there which would block it from time to time and cause sever pain. Yes, fatty and hard to digest foods make it worse, but mine wouldn't happen even when I didn't eat. Bad news, you will have to wait until you deliver to have surgery. Best of luck to you and your new little one. Not to sound rude or anything, but instead of bringing these concerns to people like us in the Internet of all places you should bring them up with your doctor. Hope it's nothing serious and congratulations! call 911 and go back to ER. Refuse to leave until u dont feel well. Is your gallbladder fine? Does the pain follow fatty meals/snacks? |
