I've got Abdominal pain and rectal bleeding!!!?

A few months a go i went to my nurse with rectal bleeding. She said it was likely to be piles. So gave me some cream and sent me on my way.

Im now getting bleeding a lot more and have been getting stomache pains (not like needing the loo type pains) Its sharp pains in my stomach.

Anyway got any ideas as to what it may be? I dont wanna go back to my gp and for him to say its probably just piles! here's some cream, go away!!!!

Any help would be great thanks!

As with any medical problem, it is always best to seek advice and care from your personal physician. BUT, saying that...YOU need to do research and if your doctor is not taking you serious when you have a problem, seek another doctor.

I have fought medical problems most of my life and I know about stomach pain and rectal bleeding. Based on the information you have given, it could be a number of problems.

If you are having abdominal pain with sudden bright red rectal bleeding, or vomiting of blood or a substance that looks like coffee grounds, dizziness, light-headedness, rapid pulse, or cool, clammy skin ----Get to the hospital NOW.

If you are having mild abdominal pain that is not caused by ulcers, diverticulitis, or gallbladder disease, you can usually do home treatment. Rest as needed. Use acetaminophen for pain relief. Do not use aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen. Avoid things that irritate the lining of the stomach, such as alcohol, caffeine, aspirin, and ibuprofen. Do not use laxatives or enemas. Take warm baths or apply a warm water bottle to the area to ease pain.

Pain that starts at the navel and moves to the lower right side of the abdomen can signal appendicitis, an inflammation of the appendix. Have you lost your appetite or are you vomiting? Are you running a fever that ranges from 100 to 102掳F
If it is detected early, mild appendicitis can sometimes be treated with antibiotics. More serious cases require surgery to remove the appendix. If left untreated, appendicitis can cause the appendix to burst. If you have any symptoms of this condition, you should talk to your doctor immediately.

Pain in the lower left-hand side of the abdomen could be a sign of diverticulitis. Diverticulitis occurs when small, balloonlike sacs called diverticula develop in the walls of the colon and become infected and inflamed. Other symptoms of diverticulitis include fever, nausea, vomiting, chills, cramping, and constipation.

Sharp pain under the right rib cage that worsens after eating points to gallbladder disease. Types of gallbladder disease include gallstones and inflammation of the gallbladder.

A sharp, burning pain in the upper middle part of your stomach (between the breastbone and the navel) could be an ulcer.

Abdominal discomfort may signal a problem with the reproductive system. Pelvic pain that occurs each month just before a woman鈥檚 period suggests endometriosis. Tenderness in the lower abdominal area may mean pelvic inflammatory disease. For women of childbearing age, an ectopic pregnancy can produce a sudden sharp, stabbing abdominal pain along with vaginal bleeding, a history of missed or light periods, or pain radiating to the shoulder. Ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids can also cause abdominal pain in women.

Urinary tract infections, food poisoning, food allergy, hernia, kidney stones, and lactose intolerance are some other things that can cause abdominal pain.

Abdominal pain that is relieved by bowel movements and is accompanied by diarrhea or constipation may mean irritable bowel syndrome.

Polyps can cause rectal bleeding and in some people can cause abdominal pain.

As you can see, there are many things that can be causing your problem. You might want to schedule to have x-rays done as well as a colonoscopy to find out what is going on inside of your body.

Good Luck! I hope this helps.

You need to go back to the GP. Don;t be embarrassed. He/She sees worse than that in a day.

I would go back to the drs. Sorry. Not to scare you but that is how people die of bowel cancer like my mom. People just disregard the embarrassing trips but for five minutes of embarrassment could mean a lifetime of thanks to a DR. Good luck

This could be a number of things. Stomach ulcers and bowel cancer are two possibilities.

I don't want to alarm you. I''m sure it's something much simpler, but you MUST go back to the GP and if he tries to fob you off you MUST insist on a referral to a specialist.

Seriously, go back to your doctor. Dont be embarrassed! If the blood is bright red it is probably piles, or you could have a slight tear in your rectum. Are you constipated and getting enough fibre? That can aggrivate piles.
If your bleeding is dark red/black and your stool is really dark, that is a sign of internal bleeding.
Any symptoms of PR bleeding should be investigated, especially since you have abdominal pain. Please go and see your GP, or if you are really worried/not happy with what your GP says go to A&E. Dont ignore it.

go back to your gp get your self an emergency appointment for today all i will say is its not piles good luck

You should go back to your GP for further (insist upon these) tests. These symptoms that you describe could be early signs of colorectal cancer. You may need to have a Sigmoidoscopy.

your gp wont do that as this has gotten worse and is not normal. he will do something about this and no one on this site will be able to tell you whats the matter with you. please go and see him

OK YOU NEED TO CALL YOUR DOC AND TELL THEN THAT THE CREAM IN NOT WORKING AND THAT YOU ARE BLEEDNING MORE NOW.

IF ALL THEY DO IS WANT TO GIVE YOU SOME OTHER CREAM TELL THEM NO AND THAT YOU ARE NOT LEAVING WITH OUT A GOOD REASON TO WHY THIS IS HAPPING

YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON, AND YES THEY MAY HAVE TO DO SOME TEST BUT JUST THINK IF A TEST OR TWO CAN MAKE IT BETTER THEN DO IT.

IFYOU STILL DO NOT LIKE THAT THE DOC TELLS YOU GO SEE ANOTHER DOC, OR DO WHAT I DO DO TO THE RE AND TELL THEM THAT YOUR DOC CAN NOT SEE YOU TODAY AND YOU ARE WORRED ABOUT THIS.

GOOD LUCK

Rectal bleeding needs to be checked out via a colonoscopy so go to a doctor and get this checked out. Also the abdominal pain should be checked out too. The should not have just diagnosed hemorrhoids without doing a better check. If you are afraid this is all they will do this time either insist on further testing or get a new doctor. Rectal bleeding is not something to be ignored.

Get to your doctor IMMEDIATELY! You have symptoms of internal bleeding. GOGOGOGO!

that don't sound good. You might have an abscess on your colon so get it checked out.

any bleeding from rectum u should always be checked out as can be a sign of colon cancer properly is just piles bt better safe thn sori oh an dollar ur sick

you could be suffering from ulcer pains. The bleeding could be due to a perforated ulcer.

Look on the Internet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome, also Ulcerated Colitis.

Not trying to scare you, look at the listed symptoms and take yourself to the G.P. more informed.

You may have internal piles, the body does not like its own blood in the alimentary canal, other than that safely stored in veins. Therefore it attempts to get rid of it, hence the loo feeling.

Wish you luck.

It sounds like it could be cysts on your ovaries i had similar symptoms a couple of years ago.

This is not life threatening. But very painful.

The cysts can grow around you ovaries but then shrink right back down, causing discomfort.

But sometimes they can pop which can cause severe pain.

The rectal bleeding may be caused by one of the cysts moving to a different area of your body.

A scan can often verify this for you. Go back to your doctors and explain it to them the way you have in you question and hopefully they can rectify this problem for you.

it could be haemorrhoids. go back to the doctor

Piles do NOT cause abdominal pain, go back to the doctor. You need to it may be something very serious. It is better safe than sorry. If it continues and your doctor does not take it seriously seek the help of another doctor.

My mother passed away from cancer this year, she had small trace amounts of blood in her urine, her doctor kept telling her it was bladder infections. She went in over and over. She finally went to a new doctor, turned out to be cancer. But by this time it had spread.

You really need to go back to the doctors. I had a similar experience with my doctor saying i probably had piles, and it was only when i got quite ill that they started to investigate properly. I was then diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis.
Symptoms of this are rectal bleeding, and stomach pain. Can also cause you to need to go to the toilet a lot.
I would really insist that they don't fob you off with pile cream, without them being sure thats what is wrong.
Saying it's LIKELY to be piles is really not good enough.
