Is this potentially dangerous?

For the later 2 weeks, I have been recieving nearly constant localized spasms by my lowest right rib. I do not know if it is intestinal, abdominal muscles, or stomach or whatever organ, but it is painful some of the time and uncomfortable all the time. It usually happens every few minutes (give and take lots) when sitting down, but it also happens when standing. At first I thought it was gas, but that was the first day. It has persisted. Could this be a hernia, twisted intestines (im still stooling) or anything else that could be life threatening sooner or later, or is this just a simple case of muscle spasm that has persisted a little longer than usual and to a greater extent of pain an uncomfortableness. If so, how can i get it to stop. I drink plenty of water, get sleep, im not stressed, and i get excercise (not to overexaustion). Please help and sorry for my bad spelling.

It could be one of many things. You should go see a doctor ASAP. If you have moving stool then there's no bowel obstruction to worry about... depending on the area of the spasm it could just be that... a muscle spasm. If it is anywhere near your intestines, you may feel some pain because it could be pressing on a "poop-filled" intestine. That hurts... been there, done that. Just go see a doctor, he/she will be able to feel around your abdomen for obstructions, protrusions, etc... Not something that can be diagnosed over the internet. With that said, I wish you luck and hope you get to feeling better! : )

You need to see a doctor not trust advice you will get here.

There are these new people out there now, called "Doctors". Check your phone book and get to one.

Please, you need to see the doctor. Go go go! love yourself!

In order to be really sure you have to have it evaluated by a doctor,we cannot diagnose you online. It could be many things from inflammation to gallstones,to even liver problems, but we dont know because you need to be diagnosed by a qualifed medical proffessional.

It could be one of many things including appendicitis, if you haven't had it out, I'd go for a check up and wouldn't take my time about it. It could be nothing serious but better safe than sorry!!!

Since it has been going on for some time, I would check with your doctor about it. It could be very simple, so don't worry. Just go get looked at.

If you think this pain is seriously life threating dont you think you should go see a doctor? Duh... and it has also been two weeks, you should go see someone!!!! ASAP!!!!

I'm afraid no one will be able to tell you for sure what it is over the internet. You should go to a doctor, and let them figure it out. Heaven forbid it should be something life-threatening! Anyway, the doc can tell you what it is, tell you what to do about it.
If you spend a lot of time at the computer, maybe it's a postural cramp?

Don't play like that. See a doctor.

It could be nothing or it could be something. Any uncomfortable/painful condition that persists for more than a couple of days should at least be discussed with a doctor.

it looks like a symptom or damaged tissue, go for prof medical advice, not wise to delay any longer

Sounds like you have gall bladder problems, maybe liver or pancreatitis, make a Drs appointment or go to ER, the pain with any of the above will only get worse and you can get a potential fatal effect. If the pain is worse after eating some fat or hard to digest food then it is probably GB. if you get in soon you won't need surgery, the stones can be removed with an ERCP procedure- DO NOT WAIT! please

LISTEN I AM 100% RIGHT ON THIS. It sounds like Gall Stones...in your gallbladder. Do not eat any oils or fats. Your Gallbladder helps produces bile from your liver to your intestines to digest fatty foods. The stones block the port and cause severe pain in the rib area on the right side. Not life threatning but if left a lone real painful and possible liver damage that maybe life threatning.

Talk to your doctor. Get an untra sound done. Get it removed when you can...make sure your health care insurance in line. See link for further info.

you should see a doctor.

and if you don't, here's my idea of what it is:

you may have pulled one of the muscles between your ribs. i did it a few years ago, and it took the muscle around 2 1/2 weeks to heal. it felt sharp and intense when i moved too fast.

if it's just abnormal cramps, try eating bananas. a lack of potassium can give you cramps.

but i recommend you go to a doctor. the only thing it can hurt will be your wallet.

in a 12 cup coffee maker, just like if you are making a pot of coffee but without the coffee. ONLY water and make sure that you use a filter everything should be the same as you make coffee but without the coffee start the coffee maker while it is brewing "the water only" take a half hour walk FIRST when you come back start drinking that water just like if you drink coffee in a "coffee cup" this should clear your system. just make sure that you use a filter and see what happens.

..Certainly no one can diagnose you unless they can exam you. However, your symptoms sound remarkably like either a hernia or a gallbladder problem..
..sorry I cannot help better than that.

...hey, the good news is that is not usually life threatening, but the pain can make you wonder..ha!

.. suggest you breakdown and see your Doc! Good luck.

its an alien trying to get out of your body.....seriously..why would you trust your health to an advice from a stranger with no medical credentials ???

Do you still have your gall bladder? I would also suggest seeing a doctor.

i'm not a doctor but it could be your gallbladder i would go to a doctor and they can evaluate it do an ultrasound (painless) and
get you feeling better

Yahoo! answers can never replace seeing a doctor! See one quickly, not because I think that your life is in instantaneous danger, but because pain might get worse.

no idea!!

Possibly a strained or partially torn rib cage muscle.
