Worried .Severe upper abdominal pain? |
Severe upper abdominal pain? Ps : i have been treated for acid reflux last year but i did not have that. i was feeling sick allot. but that has persisted. You should have told them at the hospital that at 21 your sister had gallbladder surgery, that is very unusual. When ever you have abdominal pain you need to talk to a doctor! NOW. I think its a duodenal (SP!!!) ulcer. I had one at 17 - it was pretty painful... If it's not pocket gas, then it very well could be gallbladder. That's similar to the symptoms I had when I had gall stones & had to have laproscopic surgery. To be sure go to another doctor and get another opinion. What you described sounds like heartburn. You can get heartburn from eating or drinking the wrong foods, and also from not eating or drinking anything. Get a good antacid and try taking one when you FIRST start feeling the pain. If it goes away, then you do have heartburn, and possibly have acid reflux disease. I have such bad acid reflux I throw up from it occasionally ... I sleep with a bottle of antacid pills by my bed and take them as soon as I feel the 'burn' in my belly. My doctor thought it was gall bladder disease, and I even had to see a surgeon ... he's the one who recognized what I have as acid reflux not gall bladder disease. If this happens too much when you are trying to sleep, get a 'triangle pillow' and sleep with your head up ... but if you learn to 'feel' that first tiny 'burn' in your belly, you can just take an antacid and can sleep lying all the way flat. sounds like gallbladder...go to doc and have them ultrasound the gallbladder looking for stones...if they suggest having it out do it, because when the little bugger goes it hurts like hell.. It sounds like you need an upper GI test to see if you have ulcers or a hiatal hernia or something like that. I have had hiatal hernia and it feels like I was having a heart attack, really hurt. You really need a check up. rossiepin i answered you the best i can maybe you should contact your doctor to be on the safe side Try this, should it be inside of your stomach. I have been having the exact same type of pain over the past 2 years, off and on, and over the last several months it has gotten worse, every test they do comes up normal, however my gallbladder functions just barely but is still in the normal range. I am having an Upper G.I done on friday and then if that comes up negative for anything I am going to have my gallbladder removed. Since they can't seem to find anything wrong that seems to be the next step in my treatment. I would see your regular doctor first if you need a referral, if you don't, just set up an appointment with a Gastroenterologist, call the number on the back of your insurance card to find numbers for them in your area. Get to them as soon as possible and hopefully they can find out whats wrong with you. I don't have gallstones or anything like that but still have issues. So, hope you feel better soon!! Lots of luck to you! You may have an ulcer. It could be any number of things but here are a few suggestions It sounds like you too could have gallbladder trouble. I had to be rushed into hospital after suffering for weeks with similar pains to what you describe, but you are very young to have gallbladder problems. But you say your sister has had trouble with it too? It does seem to run in the famiy, as my sister had hers removed a year after me.It definitely sounds like some sort of stomach trouble, and I wouldn't worry that it's anything more serious. see your doc again, and tell him you want some investigation. Good luck!!! yea it can be heart burn.if it is heart burn, wen this happens to me, i complain to my dad or mom lol, and they go telling me go fart lmao.but suposibly it makes it go away,or eating somthing, or drink watr I have had similar pains, if it isnt gas pain, it may be peptic ulcers.. I take prescription Zantex daily and dont have those pains anymore.... |
