Abdominal Pain--Is it Appendicitis? |
I have crazy abdominal pain. It started last night at like 2 AM (it didn't wake me up, I was just awake already) and it hurts whenever I use those muscles--so when I pee and stuff. I don't think it's a UTI or bladder infection because it's the wrong kind of pain. Like, it doesn't hurt to pee, it hurts the muscles or whatever in my abdomen when I start to, if you know what I mean? -.- It's hard to explain. sounds more like a bladder infection than appendicitis. Appendicitis is always accompanied by high fever. 103 F or better. You need to consult your doctor as soon as possible so he/she can make a diagnosis. Good luck & feel better soon. :) it may be a sign of appendicitis, or ulcer...or maybe a referred pain from any part of your abdomen... but the best thing you do is to consult a doctor... when you get appendicitis, it starts in the center and moves to the right. when i had it, it hurt so bad i couldn't even walk. Appendicitis is accompanied by high fever and lots of vomiting. With symptoms like this, I'd DEFINITELY see a doctor. It's easy to speculate online, but there are literally HUNDREDS of things that could be causing this...and no WAY for you to get a proper diagnosis online. I do agree that you would have a fever if you had appendicitis, but that doesn't mean that something else is wrong. It is unlikely an appendicitis, because you more likely would get a fever and really bad pain, and it doesn't sound to me like UTI infection either. It sounds more like an ovarian cyst or ovulation pain. You can feel it higher or lower on either side of your abdomenal area. If it is ovulation pain, which is very common in the middle of your cycle-it may last from for couple of hours to a couple of days and can come and go. Just wait and see, but if this pain is severe and doesn't go away-deffinatly call your doctor! Take your temperature, if it is 100 or above, do this test for referred appendicitis pain: Slowly and gently press down on your abdomen where the pain is, then very quickly release. If it hurts more when you let up than it did while pressing down, that is a symptom of referred appendicitis pain and you need to go to the Dr. soon. Appendicitis can take a few days to become acute. The pain can start in the middle of your abdomen and as the infection gets worse it localizes to the lower right side, just above your hip bone and the fever will spike higher. If you have a fever you have an infection of some sort. If you don't have fever now, that does not mean you will not develope one,so keep checking for as long as the symptoms persist. sounds like you may have a urinary tract infection. But only your doctor can really decide so go see him/her |
