Lower abdominal pain in 65 y/o asian male...?

My father has lower abdominal pain. Its a dull pain that sometimes comes in wave and sometime spread to the the left and right abdominal side. The pain is 3/10 with 10 being the highest. The doctor has checked him several time and found nothing unusual. All they came up with was that his intestines are weak and that when he eats anything the walls of his intestines cause minor obstruction which causes him pain. We've giving him laxatives every three or four months when the pain is prolonged for more than 3 days. We've also tried to give him Gas X etc. to relieve the occurance of these pain which comes and go but can last up to 2 weeks. His diet has changed dramaticaly and it hasn't helped. We have no health care and all of the out-of-pocket procedures like ultrasounds have come up with nothing.

Anyone know what health issue i'm trying to describe here? Are there online resources? Are there remedy? Anyone have the same issue? I figure that so long as we induce gas in him he'll okay?

He needs fiber, not just laxatives and he absolutely must drink plenty of water. Get him on a regular schedule. Have him take a stool softener/laxative combined daily, plus benefiber. As you get older your digestive system slows. From the age of 40-years, we lose 1% of function per year. The key is keeping him regular and what I've mentioned above will help to do that.

Good luck!
