If you think you may have an avm, what is the best way to find out if you have it? |
i have many of the symptoms. i've had mri's done before but they didn't find anything. that was almost a years ago and i have since had a couple seizures and times where i just fall over. my arms and legs also keep falling asleep. exhaustion, dullness of effect, irritability and many of the other minor symptoms. i really want to get this taken care of. any help would be appreciated. You said you had a MRI, but have you had a MRA? A MRA is done to look at only the blood vessels in whichever area we are scanning. If we are looking for a AVM, they are found in the Circle of Willis, in the brain. go to a neuro-radiologist. They will probably do a cerebral angiogram, and they will block the problem AVM. I have had this procedure done, and it was not all that bad. An angiogram is a different way to diagnose avm, but I'm not sure if it would give a different picture of your situation than an MRI would. Talk to your doctor. There may be other health conditions that would cause seizures . Ever seen Six Feet Under? I loved that show. Nate had an AVM. |
