If you are refering to Arteriovenous malformations, they are masses of abnormal blood vessels which grow in the brain. AVM s can occur in any area of the brain, and may be either small or large. When a hemorage occurs, it is usually with a limited amount of blood, which is different than the hypertensive hemorrhages of other stroke patients.
