Is there any evidence that chemotherapy is a cause of ARDS?

My father quickly developedd ARDS after his first chemo treatment about 8 weeks after his colon cancer surgery.

You dont give very much information on your dad such as his age, does he smoke, does he have a hx of heart ailments etc. Is he otherwise healthy. What kind of chemotherapy did he recieve? How is his health otherwise?
Chemotherapy is not for the weak, weary. sick, or the elderly.
Some chemotherapy can cause ARD's. I get really concerned when I am about to give a huge dose of chemotherapy wondering if the family and the pt really understand what the possible outcomes may be.
I will pray for your dad and you too. Hopefully he is better now and will do ok.

while chemotherapy may cause ARDS especially CISPLATIN, in your father's case I think its the colon cancer & the effects of the major surgery may have a greater role.
Eventually its a collection of factors that lead to ARDS.
