Do you think a fever of 102.3 is high especially when you are on a?

trach ventilater that is giving you 40 percent oxygen? 95 pulse ox my mom is in SICU WITH ARDS

Yes, the fever is high but I don't think the oxygen being delivered would be a factor on her temperature. Let the people treating your mother know your concerns. They might be able to alleviate some of your worries.

102.3 for an adult is fairly high .. but I've had temps. of 103 .. and I came out of it after shivering all night. Anything over 104 for any extended length of time is extremely serious. Good Luck! :)

Well that temperature is not good given her situation. The Pulse Ox is a tad low, but for ARDS, that is not a surprise.

The ventilator is a good thing, used to treat the ARDS.

It is a very serious problem. I hope it all works out for you and her.

102.3 is very high in any adult whether or not they are on a ventilator. Adults usually don't run temps. that high.

Yes, I agree it is high for an adult no matter if they are on or not on a vent has nothing to do with the temp. Also ARDS (adult respiratory distress syndrom) is very dangerous to have. Of course i don't know what all is wrong with your mom besides ARDS...And her age etc..The pulse ox is fine on 40percent nothing to worry about there right now. I hope your mom does well take care anymore questions you can email me if you even want to talk ok?

Does your mom have pneumonia too? Bacterial infections such as pneumonia and sepsis can cause high temps.
