What is the best way to take a band aid off without it hurting? |
I had to get a biopsy yesterday because of something on my leg and I got 4 stitches. They put a type of band aid on top of it and said to take it off in 24 hours. PEEL IT OFF REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYY SSSS...LLLL...OOOOO...WWWWW...LLLLL....Y... just to say, u probably dont want to let it just fall off because if ur doc told u to take it off in 24hrs. then u need to do that. Because it needs to air out! just saying, cause it needs fresh air to heal. Report It soak it in warm water so it is easier to take off, sometimes they may even fall off. ooor you can just rip it really fast but that can hurt. Under hot water maybe, or slowly, and most people would say just rip it off really fast. I had this great doctor that took a really sticky band aid off that was sure to kill, but she did it without me feeling anything! I don't know how so sorry, can't help. using a hair dryer on the band aid will melt the glue that holds it on to your skin. Should lessen the blow. Only one way to pull off a band aid..... grab an end, lift up slightly then RIP it toward you as hard as you can.... hurt? yeah... but hey you're a big boy now, AREN'T YOU? as far as the stitches, NONE of the adhesive part of the band aid should be anywhere on any stitches so you shouldn't hurt the stitches at ALL..... hope the biopsy comes out ok.... I'd say do it slow but put a little pressure on the incision so your skin isn't pulled up as the band aid is taken off. This might not be the least painful way, but the safest. I don't think there is a way to do it without any pain. soak it first in hot water and take it off not slowly but as fast as you can and it will be over before you know it put warm water on it e.g when ya in da shower apply baby oil before you take it off Kust rip it Just wait till it falls off, even if it takes weeks! |
