Do laxatives aid weight loss?

just wandering - dont worry i am not stupid enough to take them!

Like i said i am NOT going to try it!!!
I saw it on a tv program and couldnt understand how it would work!

They only help clean out your intestines and colon, which will reduce weight by whatever it passes. Not good for fat weight loss. You just get rid of poo.

Laxatives do aid weight loss but it is only water you are losing ,not fat or body mass just WATER. Laxatives just help to clean out the colon and makes you go to the toilet more for a number 2 (FAECES) not sure thats how you spell it? I wouldn't advise to take them only if you really need to go to the loo for a number two......

No they just help you lose fluid which is replaced by your first drink.
They also deplete vitamins and minerals so your metabolism is damaged making sustainable weight-loss more difficult

No they just clear out the bowel, unless you take loads, but then the rot your insides.

just so you know , as you obviously have some kind of ulterior motive,laxatives , make you feel like you have lost weight , your losing the weight of your faeces so technically temporarily , HOWEVER , the more you use them , the more you need to use them , and you also need to use more and more even just to function!!! Also please bare in mind that some of them move things through your system quicker , you loose nutrients on a long term basis , which in term leads to more health problems least of all the the bad hair and skin , and possibly hair loss, and any medication you are on can become less effective if you take too many too often , im not too sure but i think they interact with the contraceptive pill too , im not sure of your age here but just in case.
To be blunt they appear to keep weight stable , but at a great cost you certainly dont loose any weight worth bothering about and nothing permanent,but the consequences really way outweigh the results.
Dont bother go for a run or swim or something or even eat homade vegetable soup day in day out but dont compromise your health.

You will lose weight for that moment because you have emptied your bowels,
I know a lot of people use laxatives the day they go to weigh in slimming clubs ,it can be a very dangerous thing to do it can damage your body in the long term,
Laxatives should only be used if someone is really constipated

please dont do this has i know some one who did and ended up being very ill and she is bigger now than before so the answer is no

Yes, laxatives will help you lose weight, which is great if you worship the bathrrom scales.

The bad bit though is that laxatives will also dehydrate you rather rapidly... so you will feel like **** every time you go for one!

It does just because it causes the food to just go right through you. It is SUPER unhealthy though. I it ruins your liver and messes up your stomach.
