Have you ever been seriously injured while having a panic/anxiety attack?

I have them quite frequently, but I'm SO scared because my friend's sister just had 1, & she fell back & hit her head on a pointy, metal statue. Now she's in the ER, & I'm consoling my friend because she's crying in hysterics right now. To see her crying, makes me feel like crying, too. They say the lower back of her head is pierced open (where the vertebrate is between the back of the head & neck). We're praying & hoping that she turns out alright.

The girl is Bipolar with ADHD, & she's been going through lots of manic episodes. She was upset because she wanted to go down to New Orleans to visit her mom & go to the Endymion parade & take her 1-y/o daughter with her, & in the home she's living in, they won't let her because she has a history of child abuse, & they don't trust her to take her kid down there. So she got really frustrated & had an anxiety attack.

***I'm just SOOO scared!

This person you described seems to have a few mental health issues. It is not surprising they don't let her be the primary carer of her child. The fact that she just had a panic attack and fell shows just how prominent her illness is right now.

When I had panic disorder there were a couple of occasions when I was driving my car and just passed out, and yes I did crash. Thank god no one (including me) was hurt. But to this day the road licencing board have me supply medical reports to decide on my ability to drive. That's life and I've come to accept it. Obviously this woman is still very frustrated by the system because she doesn't understand that her child's protection is more important than her wishes.

Either way, you sound like a very supportive friend. Just accept that the illness is greater than your ability to change this situation and if she is at the hospital then she will be taken care of. Don't be scared, keep up the support, be positive, but remember, you can't change this person's situation, only they can. I wish I had a good friend like you lurking around in my old days and good luck!

Make your living area a SAFE HAVEN by removing potential things that may harm you. See any pointed objects? Remove them...you could pad the headboard on your bed (if you have one), remove coffee tables from the middle of the room...just make it safer just in case.

no,but they do hurt
