How kind of Doctor?

What doctor do I go to if I think I have ADD or ADHD?
Do Physicians prescribe Adderall or do I have to go to a different doctor?

it is not a given that you will get a prescription for Adderall.
Many people with ADD take nothing or may get an antidepressant type drug which are also used for ADD.You will be watched carefully during treatment of such drugs if prescribed. Doctors are well aware of the people seeking those drugs for other uses. Go to a regular doctor and discuss your concerns if you have any.Also there are new preparations which cannot be abused.If you have a substance abuse problem go see an addiction doctor or local rehab center.

Family practice doctors can take care of that generally. Ideally you would go to a Psychiatrist because their specialty is on disorders of the brain that affect behavior. As an aside any MD can prescribe every medication available (even dentists)

I would go to a psychiatrist or psychopharmacologist.

Then get into therapy with a professional social worker or psychologist to learn how to better cope with your symptoms.

Alternately you can start seeing a therapist to work through your issues and then if you need it, they can refer you to a MD.
