Juvenile Bi-Polar disorder: Does anyone know of a Dr. that evaluates?

I have a 6 yearold daughter, that fits the criteria for juvenile bipolar disorder. All the doctors either do not believe in it or want to "dope" her with amnphetimines( adhd), and with the reaction she has on the meds the doctors say that is indictive of the reaction a person that is bipolar. And they will not evaluate or refer.
What to do??

She has been to several different MDs they are ADHD hounds. out of the base criteria she meets 6 of the 18 ( the six are the manic symtoms) she meets ( thru the National Mental Health Inst.) 41 of the 43 key marks.
Her mother is Bipolar so am I.
What I need is a MD that will concider juvenile bipolar , this way she can be evaluated.

Doctors don't usually want to diagnose bipolar disorder in a child so young so it would be difficult. I agree that amphetamines are the worst type of drugs for her. But you also should consider other options. She might have other disagnosis. I would take her to a child psychologist to do evaluations

Well I would take her to a psychiatric hospital or clinic they will usually give you an evaulation as a walk in. Its quick and you can arrange for out patient therapy and speak with a doctor about meds.
