Help with my husband Im just crying cant stop.? |
Help! I need advice with my husbands condition!? Help you are all I have to turn to any advice? I'm glad you called the doctor. he may need a medication change. My husband is also schizophrenic and I have been through you know what. My husband also drank a lot when the meds weren't working well. I have gotten a lot of help on the NAMI web site. That is the national alliance for mental illness. I ask questions all the time and get really good answers and advice. I am now also taking family to family classes sponsored by NAMI. They are free and teach you so much and help you with many problems. Please don;t give up. There is help out there. Oh Sweetheart, I am so sorry you are going through all of this. It really sounds like too much for one person to bear. I know you love your husband but you have to take care of yourself first. You cannot be any good for them if you have a breakdown. Your family needs a lot of help. Your situation is very overwhelming. (I am not trying to be mean, only honest)Call a local crisis hotline. You need to talk to someone about what options are available in your area to help your family. In home therapy might help. Well, I am bipolar, my boyfriends son just moved in with us a month ago. He is bipolar, schizophrenic, has Autisim and has a very explosive temper. But, I do STRONGLY SUGGEST that none of you should have any alcohol at all !!! That is the worst thing you can do. Get into Family Therapy. Believe me it really works. Try different ones until you find a really caring one that your family clicks with. The beauty of therapy is that while you talk, listen to each other and you may be able to find out where and how to solve a problem. I hope you do not drink anymore, that is very bad for mentally disturbed individuals. Oh, you will be in my prayers. I know these are VERY DIFFICULT ILLNESS TO DEAL WITH. YOU MOST DEFINATELY NEED TO SEEK HELP. God Bless you and your family and be with you at all times !!!!! Go through a Guidance Center if you have one in your town. Wow, that is a LOT to deal with. He definitely needs some medical help. I can't think of anything that anyone else hasn't said, just hang in there and try and take care of yourself, too. Are there any relatives or social services you can draw on for help? Bless you and good luck. |
