Please answer my question, about ADHD...........?

whats the evaluation for ADHD like if your a 13 year old girl who could also have depression? i might be gitting tested for adhd soon because i cant pay attention, i get so hyper it causes trouble at home and school and i cant control it, i can never stop moveing, im always tapping something or being really figity, i used to be really smart and got good grades, but last year and this year ive been failing classes cause i cant finish homework or i lose it. and i get distracted by the littleist things, and i mix up letters or words when im talking or writing, and i have every sign of adhd according to every site on the internet, but i also have been depressed lately and have been cutting myself for lots of reasons, but i was more like just adhd before i was depressed, and now i have a counselor but she doesn't know anything yet because i wont tell her....
so im just wondering what the ADHD test is like for a 13 year old girl?

thanks

I'm 15 and i am ADHD, Bipolar and i have major depression. They will ask you questions and just tell them the truth. They will help you. Trust me!

it's probably just checking to see how different things effect ur moods and what things get you more excited, and also what things seem to hold your interest and how long it takes for u to not pay attention! Nothing big, I wouldnt worry bout it too much, it's not something to get yourself worked up about

First, why don't you want to tell your counselor things? In most cases, she can't tell anyone what you tell her...unless you say that you are going to hurt yourself or someone else. So, you can feel open to talk to her. If you don't feel comfortable with her, can you get another counselor? Sometimes that is helpful.

About the evaluation..my daughter (11) is going through it right now. It is not bad. First, I answered a questionnaire and so did her teachers. Then we were referred to a doctor. He has been talking to me, also talking to her and observing her. She really likes him and doesn't mind it at all. There haven't been any blood tests or anything...it's not bad or scary at all.

I was tested many years ago before they had a name for it. The tests may have changed. They had to do with memory. They would show you a pattern and then take it away. Then you have to make the pattern out of colored blocks while they time you. I think if you want help you need to be truthful with your counselor so you can get the correct help. I have a son with ADHD it is not the end of the world. With the right help you can get better.
