The boyfriend has ADHD and he's an inattentive @sshole! What the heck? |
Does ADHD damper a relationship? I've dated guys that don't have ADHD and they're very attentive, making great boyfriends. I felt appreciated for once! ADHD to blame? Any suggestions? I have ADHD and on meds. Yes ADHD does affect relationships with friends, family parnters etc. This makes relationships very difficult for the suferer. My best advice is to STICK WITH HIM and give him the support and help he needs, this disorder is not his fault, if a person was dumped all the time becasue of a disorder then things would be pointless. Not aiming this at you though. JUst saying in general. If yu cannot sort this problem then you need to goto a councillor or someone to help with the problems, youi will get this sorted. we did. i had the same problems, just dont leave him and fix the problem as it aint his fault or anyone elses.! i dunno but i hate ppl who correct other ppls grammar Why are you with him then? you have to accept his condition or move on.. this has nothing to do w/ADHD. focus on discovering why you choose guys who are emotionally unavailable to you. learn to like yourself and spend less time looking for someone. i take the 8 hour release ritalin...it works great and i listen to all the stupid **** my gf has to say and she love me for it! try it You can not fix it for him. He needs to learn to work on his issue by recognizing it first, get some help and better start working on, or it will eat you up alive. Somewhat..yes. Even so, everybody makes choices and hes not making good ones. If you have had great boyfriends in the past, why aren't you with one of them now? Yes, of course it's to blame. It's not make-believe. It just so happens that the brain of a person with ADHD is more passive, it's in it's own world and is concentrating very deeply on one thing. We zone out and we'll respond & agree to things we don't even remember. I know I'm ansering a question with a question here, but if you felt appreciated by dudes without ADHD, then why did you drop them to go out with an inattentive dude? Has he been officially diagnosed? my wife has adhd severly,,and i admit at times it drives me crazy ,but i have learned to accept it,,as i have accepted her and love her,,it can be very hard sometimes but hey it can be fun to,,i can buy something we didnt discuss like tools or video games and she doesnt really pay attention to it,,either way if you love your boy friend you love his adhd,,you just need to be patient with him.. guess you first have to understand the effect of ADHD... on what does it do to a person exhibiting it... then think carefully if you could get along just fine with that.... then also try to know f what level of ADHD does he have and if he receives help/therapy for it... the therapy actually helps or teaches them to deal with the disorder, to help them control their emotions before they burst out... I suggest that whether he has ADHD or not is irrelevant. My husband has ADHD, but he's not really that bad when it comes to me. I think it has to do with the fact that he actually likes me. You see, people with ADHD don't entirely lack the ability to pay attention to anything ever, but things that are boring to them are damn near impossible to pay attention to for them. He does have his moments of inattention with me, but really, who doesn't? I doubt his world has to revolve around you. Hanging on every word that comes out of someones mouth is lap dog pathetic, not appreciation. Appreciation comes in many forms. |
