Are mild ADD, ADHD, and Autism mistaken as "Disorders", or are they simply another way of thinking?

I have ADHD and, through my observations, have found that it may be nothing more than a different "configuration" for how a person thinks. Many people with mild ADD, ADHD, and Autism have very good recollection from long term memory, as with borderline photographic memory. I believe that this may be due to the number of relative connections between memories. A person will see a frying pan, but may remember being burned as a child, thus relating the object not only with food (satisfaction), but also with heat (pain) and a certain level of importance (degree of caution used). The more relative connections between different memories that are made, the more creative that the person seems to be. This is a general observation from my personal study of cognitive thought processes, conducted for over 15 years. With those who have mild ADD, ADHD, or Autism, the cognitive processes seem to be accelerated. I can remember almost every experience from all the way back to 3.5 months of age.

ADHD, ADD and Asperger's all focus on cognitive malfunction in different ways. ADHD and ADD focus more on the innability to pay attention under any circumstance. Asperger's focuses more on social problems.

None of these disorders mentions lack of memory. In fact Asperger's Syndrome notes that memory is higher.

Society does play a role. Anyone outside the norm is characterized as something other than "ideal" or something else. My younger brother has ADHD and has trouble concentrating. He is very bright though. He is on medication and is back in college and doing well. I think our system is very rigid and unaccommodating to people that are different. It is quite common in nature to have nonconformity.

I am dyslexic. I can relate to what you are saying. I find it aggravating because of society's rigidness and lack of acceptance. One reason is because of extreme competitiveness.

I have intense adhd and I've always thought of it as another way of thinking. But doctors classify it as a disorder to gives us meds like we are broken or something. It's just the way we live. They think there is a chemical imbalance in our brains or something. And hey, maybe there might be...but so what? no one is perfect. Humans are a mutation among themselves..
