Kinda personal but i NEED the facts!!!!!?

okay, so adderall. i know it's used to treat ADD in children but it's also taken for very deep depression. what are the effects of adderall SNIFFING? just so you know, i'm not doing any of this i'm just want the facts for myself. anyways, so can anybody also tell me WHY people choose to sniff it UP their nose and what you would use to do that? like....well....it's complicated. a family member, i think, is saying that he is "just sniffing it b/c it does get into your system very well by mouth" and swears that's the only thing he's doing. well, also what would show up on a drug test if he were doing some other prescription or illegal drug.....GOD BLESS Y'ALL AND I LOVE YOU!!!!

this person may also have a bipolar disorder, which what are the signs and symptoms of it and how is it treated, schizophrenia, also what are the facts, and amphetamine psychosis, what are the facts also. thanks y'all!

Adderall is not indicated for depression. It is only indicated for ADHD and Narcolepsy. It is a psychostimulant. It needs to be taken orally as directed! To administer it by sniffing is extremely dangerous. I would liken it a little bit to sniffing coke. He could die! Get him help! He is not telling the truth. If he is to the point that he is crushing and sniffing Adderall, he is into other stuff and will start to explore more and more until it is too late. Get him help. Trust me I know what I am talking about!

P.S.
The signs and symptoms which you are observing are from the drug abuse. Psychotic disorders cannot be diagnosed in the presence of drug abuse because the drugs will cause all the same symptoms. You need a significant period of sobriety before mental illness can be ruled out - usually 3 months, but can sometimes be longer. Also, you might ask your pharmacist about home drug testing kits. However, I recommend a more immediate intervention - professional help!

You can get all the "facts" on these different mental illnesses by googling them so i wont waste space here trying to outline all of that for you. the reason people sniff drugs is because they are taken into the system more quickly through the nose(respirtory system) and therefore effect the brain faster and of course the fastest way is to shoot up. You can use anything to sniff with - straw, rolled up money or just your nostril if need be. as far as you thinking this person might have these other problems the plain fact is that as long as they are using a drug that is not prescribed to them and maybe even abusing a drug that is prescribed to them all the symptoms will be masked for a correct diagnosis of any other mental issue. get the person clean and then address the mental issues.

Well adderall is only supposed to help those with ADD as it's said to have the opposite effect and helps them to focus and concentrate more readily. Those withOut ADD, may feel more speeded up by the drug and by way of the nose, may hasten the 'high'. Please talk with his parents about his sniffing or taking of the adderall. It can be addictive and even dangerous regardless of how the person is taking it which is why people on adderall are usually monitored by a psychiatrist or at least family dr (psychiatrists are much more versed with psychotropic meds, however). Sniffing anything is not healthy and someone with ADD who legitimately needs the medication will not be sniffing it. It may even burn the nasal passages.
