Is 'sucking in' bad for one's health? |
I was thinking about how sometimes girls (and guys) want to kinda make it seem like they dont have a belly, by sucking in. I know it happens naturally when one stands uup straight, the stomach area kind of flattens out. But to suck in, are there any risks of injury, like back problems, respritory problems, organs? Here's some impirical wisdom. I have been on the large side all my life. At some point in time..If memory serves around 21 or so..I started "sucking it in'. At 1st it involved a conscious effort on my part. After a while..it became my "natural state' if you will. I'm now 47 and have had a ton of regular 'life' injuries due to work and play. Back busted, broken ribs...etc., etc. no I think it's good for your stomach muscles, but don't know for sure. No its not bad for your health its basically taking a deep breath that is extra deep. i wouldnt think so. You're holding your stomach muscles in so it's helping to tighten them. try flexing ur abdomin instead of sucking in that will work out the abs or just do sit ups |
