Adult ADD and Anxiety Medication Question? |
I have been taking Zoloft for anxiety for a few months now, and it has worked wonders! But now I am in graduate school, having some difficulties with concentration. I am finding it hard to be organized and remember the little details. I am so forgetful! In class, I feel restless and fidgety. It takes SO MUCH EFFORT for me to finish certain tasks, especially if they require a lot of thought. My supervisor suggested that maybe I take medication for ADD to get me through grad school. I am just concerned because I have heard that medication for ADD can create anxiety, and I already take medication for that! Would it counteract with the Zoloft, or make it less effective? Because I would much rather NOT have anxiety but still be a space cadet. The anxiety is too much to bare, but my ADD is becoming an issue in school. What should I do? Any suggestions and/or advice is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!!! You said you've been taking Zoloft for a few months now...are there any higher doses than what you're on? Is there something other than Zoloft that you can take? Can Zoloft have this side effect of poor concentration? These are questions for your doctor. |
