ADD and basketball?

i have add and i tried out for basketball and i didnt make it and they were telling me i was doing good is it possible that my add could effect my basketball skills

i am treated for it but the teachers have a 504 or whatever its called and says technicly i have a 'medical ondition' that can effect my grades

It could.
When I was little, I played base ball.
The whole time I was in the outfield, I would spin in circles and dance.
I made my coaches mad.
That was because I was ADHD.
So, you could be zoning out without realizing it.
Or, maybe you just don't pay attention to the coaches or the people around you.

practice

some ppl just dont understand...Oh look! a chicken!

It might...or you might just be be talented...I hope you do well.

depends on how severe it may be... but if it's being treated, and/or its not too bad, it shouldn't affect your basketball skills. just practice and you'll become better!
ADD would not be a reason for not making the team.
good luck!!

I fail to see ADD would help or hinder physical skills needed to play Basketball.

If anything, sports should HELP your ADD because they force you to focus just on the game for an hour or two at a time - which should help you focus on other activities, such as school or homework. Even Einstein was said to only be able to concentrate on something for 15-20 minutes before needing to take a break - like playing his violin or riding his bike.

See if there are specific skills you can work on to improve your chances of getting on the team next year, like shooting or passing or dribbling. It sounds like you're already pretty good. A little more work, and you should have no problems next year. Good luck.

it might have just been your height

Oh my. No, ADD does not effect your basketball skills.
I have ADD and OCD, and I play dance and basketball. It doesnt effect that.
You just need to practice! Dont worry! You'll get better! Hang in there! :)
