ADD Tendencies? |
I've talked with my doctor and he says that I have symptoms of ADD. Personally, I'm not exactly sure what the disorder is. I'm 19, so I guess he considers it to be adult add. It really means you have trouble with your attention span. You have to much to think about. It sounds like you are hypomanic, not ADD. With a good cognitive therapist, you can work on slowing yourself down and not interrupting people. If you have "racing thoughts", there are some meds for that, too. Talk to a counselor first! Just b/c you interrupt people doesn't mean you have ADD. I was diagnosed with ADHD in college. Do you forget where you place simple items...such as keys, wallet? Can you sit down and read a book without getting distracted after reading two pages and move on to something else? Do you have troubles in Math and F. Language? HAve you ever had substance abuse problems or been in trouble with the law? Do you forget to pay your bills? Have you been tested by a professional for your concerns? Most people tend to engage in a conversation without listening. They are too busy thinking of a comback and tend to blurt out their response to a conversation. I think if you are concerned you should get examined by a professional. There are plenty of great medications that can help you if you do have ADD. My friends can definately tell when I don't take my medication and I am thank ful they have good sense of humor as I know I can get annoying. Good Luck! It sounds more like ADHD (attention deficit with hyperactivity disorder). |
