How do you really tell if you have ADD/ADHD?

I am not like uncontrollably hyper, just crazy! I don't always think before I say things and I don't have much of an attention span. My friends say I am ADD and OCD but I really don't know how you would tell something like that. I am in middle school and I thought if you had ADD you could tell before you are my age. Can ADD/ADHA be developed? What about OCD? Are there different levels of ADD/ADHD/OCD? How can I be tested for ADD? I have a high IQ, would they have detected ADD in the IQ test when I took it in Kindergarten? Help my hyper activity!

Don't worry about it so much. Half of the people who think they have ADD/ADHD really don't, and they just want to be diagnosed with something. Kids are so overmedicated these days because parents want some kind of "disorder" slapped on their kid for why they're acting like kids. Chances are, given your description of your symptoms, you are not ADD/ADHD. Don't worry so much and enjoy your youth.
