I get about 6 hours of sleep a night, and have a VERY healthy, balanced diet. I eat eggs bacon and toast for breakfast, salad with lean pork and veggies for lunch, and a varying dinner. so i was wondering, are these symptoms of ADD? ANd if they are how can i get tested? More details are.. i have trouble getting A's.. usually stay up till 1 studying cuz otherwise i dont get A's. Hi,
I am not a Dr. by any means, but my son has ADHD.(attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) There are test available to determine weather you have this disorder or not. I did not have my son have these test because the Symptoms were very apparent. He has a very hard time focusing and staying still. Caffeine does have to opposite effect on people with add or adha then people without it. I have not tried him on any diets for this disorder. The medication they make works very well and helps him cope with his school work. I would definitely advise you to get to a Dr. and let them decide. Like i said the meds help ALOT. Its nothing to be embarrassed of. Many people young and old have this disorder. His Dr. told me that is sometimes is hereditary and sometimes its due to frontal lobe damage in the brain. In his situation during birth, he was stuck in the birth canal and his head got really squished. I also want to tell you that it is a pr oven fact that people with this disorder are very intelligent, they just have a hard time focusing there thoughts and energy. He is only 10 years old, but this started as a toddler. I have to say that its wonderful you put so much effort in your studies even though its difficult for you. So for the most part there is help available and its very manageable. Good luck!!!! A.d.d is really hard to diagnose. I am fifteen years old, and I was barely diagnosed about a year ago... Some of those signs are the same as mine, but it could also just be that you are stressed out and do not have a good memory?
Either way, the best way to get tested is to call your doctor or even a psychologist if you do not have a good doctor....
Procrastination, by the way, just means that you are not happy with what you are asked to do... That has nothing to do with A.d.d, even though I suffer from the same problem.
My boyfriend also has A.d.d and he plays some sports too. Basically he makes A's without studying, so think of it this way: When you are absolutely FORCED to do something can you focus only on that thing? Those are symptoms of ADD BUT before you go get some adderall; go to your local health food store and buy some Magnesium (powder, liquid or pills) AND some gingko biloba with guta kola.
Many times people don't have ADD, just a malnurished brain. Magnesium is needed for proper brain activity, stress and muscle activity. The herbs help increase brain activity and concentration.
I would also recommend eliminating the pork in your diet. Pigs do not have sweat glands and therefore deposit that waste into the meat. These toxins may be causing your brain to not function optimally. Good Luck |
