How can you tell if you tear your ACL Again? |
I tore my ACL a year ago and had surgery (paetella) 6 months ago. I was doing really well and felt no pain and was getting stronger. I started to play light basketball again but recently "twisted" my knee. It got really swollen for a week, then went away. I am walking fine now (a week and a half since but have not been playing) Im seeing the doctor soon, but could i tear my ACL again and be able to walk in a week? yes I did the same thing playing football. I tore it 3 years before I got hurt again. I took it easy after I reinjured it. Then it stopped hurting so I started playing again. I ended up tearing my ACL,PCL, and MCL. I had to have a total reconstruction done this past December which really screwed me over. I was getting ready to go to Iraq. I walked and played football with all three torn. so yea its possible you tore it again. I have the some problem with my knee... with any luck you just sprain your knee... You need to make you knee alto strong before you play any sport... I would give it a good year before playing any hard sport... I know it sucks but you only get 1 knee take care of it... Good luck at doctors but remember to do your excises... instability....yea often the ACL causes relatively no pain after the injury. I know in my case i had a lot of pain and trouble walking because accompanied with the tore ACL i had a tore cartliage |
