Acl surgery question? |
I am having surgery on 03/03/08 & the dctr asked me if I would like to go with a autograft Or allograft to reconstruct my acl ...I am not comfortable using a dead person graft...Is it safe ..has there been any known dieases from using a dead persons graft???? I had the same type of surgery on my mcl, and gave me the same option. I didnt want to use the "dead persons graft" because it freaked me out, but it is better because they do not need to stretch or cut out any other of your ligaments, hence making recovery faster, I have never heard of any disease coming from this Allogaft is fine and nothing to be scared. Autogaft will be better. Go by your surgeon's advice. |
