Ok...whats a good way to lose weight?

It seems like anything i do never works. Ive been very athletic all my life i played soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton...you name it i played it. My frshman year i tore my acl and ever since then its like i cant sop gaining weight. I still play soccer, i was excersizing and watching what i eat, going to the gym etc...but saw no results. Its discouraging and makes me feel even worse. Does anyone have any good, different ways to lose weight??

Eat 6 small meals instead of 3 big meals.
So like eat every 3 hours. ( small meals )

Add healthy foods, like broccoli and lean meat.

Drink a glass of water before you eat. ( this helps the most because it makes your tummy feels full and its good to drink alot to lose weight )

I found that the easiest way to lose weight was to count calories...it can be tedious, but it's the only way to know how much you are actually eating. There are plenty of on-line calculators that you can use to determine a good daily calorie intake to start losing weight.

Try counting calories for 2 weeks, keep your calories low, and see if it works. If you absolutely know you are burning more calories than you are consuming, you could also think about going to the doctor...there are medical reasons people gain weight - thyroid, PCOS, to name a few.

keep playing soccer and exercising. I tore my acl playing soccer, for rehab swimming was part of the rehab process. Swimming uses many muscles you've never knew you had. Along with eating healthy, it should tighten you up

M Dels, I could help you, but I don't have enough info to sort things out. Is your freshman year high school or college? How long has it been since the ACL tear? And have you fully recovered from that? What were you eating, what type of exercises were you doing and did it include any weight training?
I'm a firefighter/paramedic, a natural competitive bodybuilder, a personal trainer and a nutritional consultant. I could better answer your questions with a little more detailed info.
My e-mail account for the Yahoo answers is open. Drop me a line if you will and I'll try to help you.
Thanks

This is something off the cuff that my personal trainer said not to do. I was trying to gain weight. Problem is I drink maybe 2 gallons of very cold water or iced tea (not sweeted) per day.

I was told to stop drinking so much. Its ice cold and before you body can get it out, it has to warm it to body temp. Goes in 32 degrees it comes out 98. It burns tons of calories to do that. Im not saying this is a diet. But they are saying I have to stop drinking so much cold water or no calarie iced tea for me to gain weight.

*NOTE* it is possible to get water intoxicated. I drink alot of water, Im use to it. I dont suggest it as a diet. But if its very cold, and in limits. Im told that I have to gain 20 lbs a year to catch up. If im not trying to gain im going to lose that. By heating what I drink alone.

Try to get more information on dieting, weight loss articles, health and fitness articles, weight loss forum and BMI calculator at my profile and get the advise from them to lose weight fast and healthy.

Eat less, exercise more.
Eat 6 small healthy meals each day. Drink water, take your vitamins, get at least 8 hours of sleep each night, try yoga.
