Should I be taking protein even though I want to lose weight? |
I'm trying to lose weight right now but still want to get pretty big as far as muscle is concerned. I work out 4 to 5x a week and take about 40 to 60grams of protein. The only thing I can do right now is walk about 3 miles twice a week at the moment because I recently had ACL surgery. Do you think I should cut down my protein for the time being because it'll make me fat? The only thing I can do for cardio is lift lower weight more times. I won't be able to run til March and I want to lose about 20lbs at least before september. 2 things for you. no, protein won't make you fat, it'll help repair your damaged tissues. Fat and sugar will make you fat. eat a good balanced diet - you'll be OK The more muscle you have, the more calories your body will burn per day. So, I would take protein, then just watch the fat burn off. (Your body burns fat up to five days longer doing weights than cardio) You need a certain amount of protein for the growth and repare of cells. i would keep taking it because you are working out still. from march to sept is plenty of time to lose 20lbs. maybe instead of running, could you do a bike. check out some supps to get at bodybuilding.com. im taking lipo6, and protein shakes and bars. NO-EXPLODE works well too. u need not eating so much protein pills as any cereal food has plenty of protein.don't take so much fat food but eggs n beans r okay.keep on ur exercise even though u had the surgery recently.good luck. ya ! Protein is the building block of the human system, which need to be replenished on day day to basis ulike fat !! |
