Nuclear stress test?

I have a right bundle branch block, so I require a cardiac clearance preoperatively. (Just getting ACL of Left knee reconstructed.) The doc I saw did the standard 12 lead ECG and a Cadiac Echo, now he wants a nuclear stress test. My real worry is that I am allergic to IV contrast medium. Will there be a similar reaction to the nuclear /thallium material injected into my body????? I go into brochospasms and am very worried..

Nothing to worry, it's a normal SOP(Safe Operation Procedure), they take all due precautions before performing and you are in safe hands.
They will rule out your going into bronchospasm.

The medication they use for a nuclear stress test is actually a cardiac medication that will stress your heart. You need to tell the medical personnel doing the stress test that you are allergic to IV contrast. There shouldn't be a reaction, but they need to know of your allergies. If the medications have similar properties they can use other drugs.

Nuclear material is not the same as the iodine base contrast material so many people have problems with. The nuclear is used to show blood supply to the heart muscle before and during physical stress.

I do nuclear stress testing and Loving H explained it well. So you can relax.
