ACL and flipped (bent) meniscus recovery? |
I am 15, I flipped (bent) the meniscus and tore my acl in a basketball game. I already had the meniscus surgery, and will take anywhere from weeks to months before the acl reconstruction surgery, because if i do bend my knee the meniscus could bend back to the way it was before the surgery. My doc. is keeping me in a brace and on crutches until he thinks the meniscus is strong or repaired enough for me to bend my knee and have the acl surgery. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and could tell me how long it took them to to be able to get off crutches and walk? Or to play and participate in sports? ACL injuries take 9 months to recover from after surgery Anywhere from 4-6 months after the ACL surgery you can get back to play |
