ACL Surgery Recovery?

About a month ago I completely tore my ACL at soccer practice. I'm getting surgery this friday and I'm really scared. I'm just 14 and i've never had a major surgery like this. But i was wondering, will i have a scar(s) on my knee after full recovery?

This depends if you have a scope while having your surgery, but if you tore it completly in half they will have to open you up, and will leave a scar. Even having ascope done will leave a very small scar. wish you luck. and dont worry about the surgery, you wont feel a thing.

Don't be scared, I also had ACL surgery when i was 14! I had more then one though and mine was much more serious. I'm sure you will have an excellent doctor, that knows exactly what they are doing. After the surgery you will be in pain for several months, and you'll need physiotherapy to re-learn to move it properly! If your surgery goes perfectly fine you shouldn't have any scars at all!

I hope your surgery goes well, and good luck in recovery!

PS. be sure to buy a good, and strong cast for recovering!

Scars depend on what graft they harvest and some other things. You will get some scarring but this will go down... I can hardly see my scars anymore (its been about 3 years since surgery)
