Method of ACL Reconstruction? |
I'm having my ACL reconstructed for a second time next month. The first time I had it reconstructed using my patellar tendon. This time, my surgeon is leaning more towards the allograft method, but I don't necessarily feel all too comfortable with the risk of infections, or the fact that they stretch out over time usually leading to another reconstruction. Has anyone had a reconstruction using their hamstring? If so, can you tell me about the recovery? Or does anyone have an opinion on what I should go with? Thanks. I had ACL reconstruction almost 2 years ago using an allograft and I have had no problems. My doctor told me that it will be just as strong as it was before as long as I keep exercising and keep it strong. Also he said I would have no problem with infection as long as I took the medication he had given me in order to not reject it. He recommended not using the hamstring because it is a much longer recovery time and it is much more painful than and allograft. who is the best acl surgeon in spore? Report It |
