I had 3 acl reconstruction surgeries and one medial meniscus repairing.Total four.My leg is still unstable all of acl failed noone knows why.I had two doctors .One did two and second one two.Now I went to third and he still see the chance to fix it .Both dcs were good .I 'm devastated.does it make any sense to suffer one more a big surgery and there is no guarantee for success. The dr wants to use my own tissue graft from patella tendon he said this is the best option for me.I would like to have it done but if three failed why 4has to be ok.I 've lost hope but I have to make a decision what to do?Please help.I'm29and I need a good knee. Thanks I suggest you go for it. I am surprised and amazed to hear an unsucceful reconstruction before. I am a PT and I encouter a lot of post reconstuction patients and they have all recovered. Hmmm. How did you injure your knee in the first place? If the doctors think they can still do something about it, then might as well take that chance. I hope you'll be well soon. Good luck As bad as this sounds...do you have any other choice??
You can either try the surgery or take meds for the rest of your life to help ease the pain....and i'm assuming with a torn meniscus and acl you definitely have pain.
Sounds like you really pulled quite a number on your knees.
I say you go for the surgery if the guy thinks he can help you out what do you have to lose? (except a lot more recovery time....) but at least it's worth it down the road!
Good luck....I've had 3 surgeries as well (2 on right, 1 on left) all 3 for meniscus tears, but they couldn't do anything. I've been keeping my quads and hams strong and i've gone about 3 years without surgery and 2 years without having to take any pills for the pain. |
