My husband and i just completed the ABO blood typing for a posible living related liver transplant 4 our child

we were chocked to learn that while we are both blood type b, our child has type o blood.. how is this possible????

what if i was type O and my husband was type A... what would our childs offspring be?

i miean what would our offspings blood type be if i was type o and my husband was type a

technically if youre a blood type b, your genotype can be made up as either BB or BO. the O part of your blood type gets suppressed because the B part is more dominant. you could be both BO, and it's possible that you've each contributed an O to your offspring, hence producing a type O.

basically if the parents have types A or B or O, an O child is possible. if one of the parents is type AB, then an O child is impossible.
